Mr. Coffee Pot
We love ya, but we ain’t yo mama. So strap on your big boy/girl pants and learn how to work that coffee maker all on your own!
1. Fill the coffee pot with water (no more than 12 cups people!)
2. Lift lid & pour H2O into back right corner.
3. Pour coffee grounds (nothing else!) into middle section. Careful not to overfill or major leakage and mess will occur. No filter needed- that mesh thingy is the filter
4. Close lid, place coffee pot back in machine, and press “On.”
5. Patience for ten minutes then viola, fresh delicious coffee!
6. Still confused? Ask Rebecca for help!
And please remember these most important rules:
*Do your fellow NextSpacers a favor: if you finish the pot, brew another. Believe it or not, a half cup is worse than a full cup leftover. Spacers drink coffee all throughout the day but if you are the last person around at the end of the day, use your coffee making judgment.
*Did your coffee beans jump all over the place? Clean counter=happier members. Do your part and help keep the space tidy.
Caffeine is the lifeblood of NextSpace. If you drink the last cup of coffee, please make a new pot (we keep our coffee XXXXXXX…). Yes, the Karma Fairy will reward you! The easiest way to rankle your fellow caffeine-addicted members is to leave 0.42% of a cup at the bottom of the pot. Do NOT be that guy and/or gal.
Good coffee is synonymous with NextSpace. We proudly buy from the freshest, local companies. Our coffee comes from Bicycle Coffee, learn more here: http://www.bicyclecoffeecompany.com/.

THE Lists
The Orange Zinger, Biz List & SFCommunity List. Not just great band names, these super useful email lists seed collaborations, serve as far-reaching job posting boards, will make you more productive and answer those tough questions the way only a smart, talented and well-connected community can.
-
Orange Zingers! Keep an eye out for the Orange Zingers, they come from the NextSpace team only and include updates regarding pricing changes, etc. and important community announcements.
The Biz List is strictly for professional use only, to make a post on this list send your email to biz@lists.nextspace.us. Also, we encourage new members to send out an introductory email to this list. Note: The email you post will not show up in your inbox.
The SFCommunity List is for community chatter–want to get/give advice, need a good auto mechanic reference, want to let people know of a great event happening this weekend? Post it on SF Community: SFCommunity@lists.nextspace.us. (shoot us an email if you also want to be added to the Union Square, San Jose, Santa Cruz, Los Angeles or NextSpace @ Amplify Community lists). The Community lists can sometimes get a bit chatty, so if you prefer the “digest” option, just let one of the super awesome NextSpace team members know!
Print/Fax/Scan/Copy
Your membership includes 200 black & white or color copies per month, each additional page is only 10cents!
Setting up the Printer Driver (it’s a bit of a pain, but you only have to do it once)!
Click HERE for the Printer Driver and don’t forget to add the first 5 digits of your keycard number in the User Code portion of your printer settings. We understand setting this up can be a little tricky so please don’t hesitate to ask a friendly NextSpace team member.
Meetings & Events (booking, hosting, LiquidSpace)
Booking, Hosting, LiquidSpace
To book the Conference Room, Meeting Room and Cafe, we use LiquidSpace across all locations. You can check availability, see all conference rooms and amenities, book a room and have access to every conference room that NextSpace offers. That’s right, if want to book a room at a different NextSpace then go right ahead. Just keep your home NextSpace employee in the loop. Reminder: Your membership includes 4 (Cafe), 6 (Workstation) or 8 (Office) hours to use the Conference or Meeting Rooms per month and if you need more it’s discounted from what we charge nonmembers!
How do I book a conference room?
In just a few easy steps, the conference room is yours!
• Go to our website nextspace.us
• Click on “MemberSpace” in the top right corner
• Click on your appropriate location
• Login/Sign-up to LiquidSpace and make your reservations
Need to book while away from your computer? Download the free LiquidSpace app onto your phone and book wherever you are. Simply find our NextSpace locations and reserve. Easy-peazy.
Conference Room Etiquette:
If you make a booking, stick to it! Running late? Cancel your meeting or reschedule it so others can use the space.
Running low on time? Check the availability of the room and extend the reservation if you can or need to.
Be sure to keep your eye on the clock so the next person in the conference room can have their meeting on time.
Make sure to leave the room as you found it, in terms of furniture and cleanliness, remember, you’re responsible for your guests.
Events
NextSpace members get access to our awesome weekly events, as well as other events and meetups held at NextSpace! Join us on Tuesdays at noon for our Brown Bag Lunch series (informal, informational discussions on a range of topics) and Fridays at 3:58pm for our Member Happy Hours where we decompress, have a drink and some nibbles, and get to know our fellow members a little better. Check out the calendar on the website to see what’s happening at the coolest coworking place in the galaxy!
Profile on NextSpace Website
When you signed up for your membership, the “About Me” portion you filled out is for the “Meet Our Members” page on the NextSpace website (nextspace.us). This is where NextSpace members post their profiles, helping members and nonmembers see who is here and in building your SEO. To add to or edit your profile just sign in at http://nextspace.us/wp-admin.
Business Mailing Address
As part of your membership, you get a sweet, downtown business address (NextSpace’s address) where you can receive mail and packages as well as send mail and schedule package pickups from. Just use your name and/or business name, no need to include “NextSpace” (if this is different from the information you gave us when you first signed up for membership please let us know)! If you receive mail or packages we will put it in your office (Office members), place it at your desk (Workstation members), or in your member folder (Cafe members). Every Monday we will email Cafe members who have mail in their folders.
NextSpace San Francisco address:
28 2nd St. 3rd Floor
San Francisco, CA 94105
Refrigerator & Kitchen Etiquette
You’ll find all you need in our kitchen – dishes, cutlery, cups, a microwave, coffee, tea, sugar/sweetener and creamer – phew! We also have a community fridge for your lunch and leftovers, as well as some pantry space to store your peanut butter and jelly (PLEASE make sure you label your eats with your name & date).
Note to the wise: clean up after yourself. Put your dirty dishes in the dishwasher and wipe off the counters – your fellow members will love you for it.
At least once a month the fridge will be examined and given a good clean (all science projects will be tossed).
Mug hooks: if you would like a super snazzy mug hook of your own just let Rebecca know!
All About Phones
You are welcome to talk on your cell phone in the Cafe, just make sure you are courteous to your neighbors and don’t overdo it. There are also some designated “quiet cafe zones” where we ask you refrain from holding meetings of talking on your phone (if you have any questions about where these “zones” are, just ask NextSpace staff). If you need to take a longer, private or Skype call just pop into the phone booth or reserve the conference or meeting room.
Tech Help
If you need an ethernet cable, extension cord, help with the printer driver, faxing, scanning or copying please notify NextSpace staff.
Internet down? Have no fear. Just let Rebecca know. Our IT team is located across the street and has a quick response time as well. Email them at: support@fixswift.com. Need some specific tech help? This is a perfect time to ask the community! Post your queries to sfcommunity@lists.nextspace.us.
