Starting out as employee “Number 2″ at NextSpace Santa Cruz in 2009, Sara Vainer fell in love with NextSpace… and NextSpace said it was mutual. She quickly proved herself so valuable and flexible that she helped support the opening of NextSpace SF – then moved to the City of Angels to support the first distant NextSpace location in Culver City. Proving her skill in long-distance replication, she is now the Community Curator for NextSpace @ Amplify in Venice Beach.
As Community Curator, Sara is not only responsible for ensuring that her space is running smoothly, that members are cross pollinating and that the coffee is percolating, but also for event programming, business development, IT superstardom and snake charming. Sara’s juggling skills and marketing chops are impressive enough that Uncle NextSpace has also bestowed upon her the title of Director of Communications.
Sara believes the purpose of life is found in our relationships with others, so it’s no surprise helping members connect with each other is her favorite part of the job. Sara enjoys a moderate amount of extreme sports, traveling, vegan comfort food, learning about innovate & social enterprise ideas and laughing. She’s always down for a chat (especially over a soy chai latte) so drop by and say hi!
